In accordance with House Bill 1127, CRISP, the state-designated health information exchange for Maryland keeps a standing Consumer Advisory Council (“CAC”). The CAC is an important part of the CRISP governance structure, providing guidance and feedback on the health information exchange from the patient and consumer perspective. The CAC is used to get opinions and feedback on issues relevant to health information exchange in Maryland. These issues may include patient opt-out, data privacy protections, consumer education, and new uses of patient data to improve the health and wellness of Marylanders. The Council meets quarterly to discuss these and other topics and provides feedback to leadership on current and future policies. All meetings are subject to the Maryland Open Meetings Act and will be public with materials made publicly available.
The CAC was established in 2023 and after two years of service, some of our members have rolled-off. Therefore, we are soliciting interest for new members. Nominations will be open until April 15, 2026. To nominate yourself or someone else, complete the survey below and attach a resume. You may also include additional supporting materials.
