COVID-19 Guidance

  1. Nursing Homes/Long Term Care Facilities: Daily COVID-19 reporting is now completed via the Maryland Department of Health PROPS portal. If you used the CRISP form to report to federal authorities (NHSN), you may elect to report in both MDH PROPS AND the CRISP form so that MDH can continue submit to federal authorities (NHSN) on your behalf.
  2. Under the new Statewide testing strategies and with the greater availability of tests, clinicians are no longer limited to testing symptomatic high-risk patients. We encourage that you additionally test patients who are asymptomatic and may have directly or indirectly come into contact with a person known or suspected of carrying the COVID-19 virus. This strategy will help to identify additional asymptomatic carriers in order to contain the spread of the virus (see Provider page below for more information).
  3. COVID-19 Point of Care Antigen Result Reporting All point of care antigen tests must be reported to the Maryland Department of Health. If you choose to report manually via CRISP, you may submit results for individual patients through the COVID-19 Tools application in the Unified Landing Page, or in bulk using our Direct secure email service. If you wish to set up an automated, electronic lab reporting feed via CRISP, we offer several options including HL7 and SFTP. If you do not have access to manual reporting or would like to set up an ELR feed, please contact the CRISP Customer Care Team at 1.877.952.7477 for assistance. If you have questions about K-12 COVID-19 testing, please email MDH.K12Testing@maryland.gov.

Gaining Access to CRISP:

If you cannot identify or contact your organization’s HIE Administrator please contact the CRISP Customer Care Team at 1.877.952.7477 and a team member will be happy to assist you.

If you are a provider who is not employed by an organization that is actively participating with CRISP, please contact the CRISP Customer Care Team at 1.877.952.7477 and a team member will be happy to assist you.
