Implementation Timeline
MedChi Network Services has actively built a strategy around assisting Maryland professionals implement EHRs and achieve meaningful use. Timelines will vary depending on the current technology utilization of a practice and the resources available for the providers and staff to actively adopt new systems. Likewise, the types of resources and support for practices that do not have an EHR will vary from the resources and support for practices that do.
We have developed educational materials to introduce practices to the kinds of technologies, incentive programs, economics, and other key pieces of overall health information technology utilization. We are sharing those with all Maryland physicians. We have also engaged in an active outreach campaign to drive EHR awareness, primarily because of the deadlines attached to certain incentive programs. Resources are always available to answer specific practice questions as well.
Practices that are interested in EHR adoption and that have the capacity to move forward will work with us to establish an appropriate project plan. The plan may consist of workflow analysis, readiness assessment, vendor demonstrations and selection, technology assessment, implementation, gap analysis, incentive registration, and HIE connectivity. The plan itself will be tailored to each practice and will be at a pace that is acceptable to all parties involved.
Do you assist Providers with EHR’s that you do not support?
Yes, our MSO assists practices regardless of the EHR platform they use.
Do any of your EHR offerings have the ability to connect to the CRISP HIE?
We are working to build HIE connectivity with a number of systems and are optimistic that the providers who are currently live will be able to send and receive data soon.
